A DETERMINED fundraiser is hoping to make this year's Macmillan coffee morning the best yet.

Julie Needle of Little Kimble has been fundraising for more than 16 years and has raised £16,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the last 11 years alone.

In 2011 she broke her own record and raised more than £4,000 at her annual coffee morning, which is part of a nationwide drive.

Julie’s coffee morning started as a low profile shindig for family and friends but has gradually grown with the Big Raffle continuing to be a major pulling factor.

This year Julie is also holding a silent auction for a handmade quilt, donated by a close friend.

Julie said: "I have supported this incredible charity since my sister, Jane died of breast cancer in May 1993. Every year more people have attended, more local businesses have supported me, and last year I really blasted my target of £3,000."

There will be lots of pampering on offer, with a choice of mini manicures and a demonstration from a reflexologist.

There will also be stalls with produce for sale. The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support's biggest fundraising event and is on September 28 this year.

The charity hopes to encourage companies in Buckinghamshire to support Julie by donating items for Julie's Grand Raffle. Contact Julie at julieneedle@btinternet.com or call the charity on 07595 091290.
