STEREOPHONICS guitarist Richard Jones will open a charity show, which had to be postponed in June due to the bad weather.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has announced a new date for its annual summer extravaganza on September 16.

The Stereophonics band member will officially open the rescheduled show, which will run from 11am-4pm.

The charity, which is based in Saunderton, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and it’s hoped the Late Summer Show will help to bring in vital funds.

Michele Jennings, chief executive of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said: "Since we were launched 30 years ago, the Charity has relied on the generosity of the public to fund our work.

"We are non-government funded and make a lifetime commitment to each of our recipients, so the public’s ongoing support at events such as the Late Summer Show really is vital to our continued work."

Currently, there are around 750 deaf people benefiting from having a hearing dog.

The specially trained dogs alert their deaf recipients to a range of sounds such as the alarm clock, doorbell, mobile phone, smoke alarm and fire alarm.

Tickets for the Late Summer Show can be bought on arrival. Adult tickets are priced at £7, family tickets (two adults and three children) are £20 with concessions at £4.
