KNIVES were used to threaten a man and a woman during a “frightening” robbery in a High Wycombe street in the early hours of this morning.
Both received minor injuries in the assault, which was reported at 3.37am.
The woman needed hospital treatment for head injuries, although she has now been discharged from hospital, and the man picked up an injury to his nose.
They were assaulted after four men got out of a silver car by the junction of Healey Avenue. Some of the men had knives and demanded the victims’ belongings before assaulting them and getting into the car and driving off.
Police investigating the robbery have today launched an appeal for witnesses to come forward. They say the men they are looking for were in their mid twenties and wearing casual clothing.
Det Sgt Sally Spencer, investigating, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victims, who were left shocked and shaken but were fortunately not seriously injured.
“I am keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who saw the car, which may have been a Vauxhall or Volkswagen, in the area.”
Anyone with any information should contact Det Sgt Spencer via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org .
