THE Princes Risborough Delivery Office will be relocated to Aylesbury Vale, despite protests to keep it in the town.
Royal Mail confirmed today that the delivery office in Bell Street will relocate to Aylesbury Vale Delivery Office in 7 Quilters Way from September 17.
The plan was first announced in April 2011 and has been subject to a further review in order to address the concerns raised by colleagues, customers and elected representatives.
Campaigners have been fighting to keep the service in the town, including taking a petition to Royal Mail HQ in London.
In June postmen and women went on strike and set up a picket line outside the delivery office.
Royal Mail said they appreciate the move will impact on customers in the area but the move is part of ongoing modernisation of their operations across the country.
