I feel compelled to write this letter regarding the community festival which was held on The Rye in High Wycombe on Sunday August 5.
This event was absolutely superb and very well organised. One of the main attractions was the large screen tuned to BBC Olympic transmissions.
This was out of this world, particularly watching Andy Murray win his gold medal.
It certainly brought a lump to my throat watching him at the medal ceremony receiving his gold medal.
The sheer joy and patriotism of everyone watching was marvellous.
Another main attraction at this event was the stage.
On this stage there were many dancers, singers, groups, steel bands.
It must have been quite a headache for the organisers to co-ordinate all this appearing one after the other.
As well as this there were stalls, sideshows, displays, very similar to what one would normally see at a fete.
I took my disabled son with the intention of only staying for a few hours. In fact we stayed there for seven hours, if not more. He, like myself, thoroughly enjoyed it. Congratulations to the organisers.
I’ve just got one thing to say; could you please do it again next year?
It was a shame there was a slight shower in the early part of the afternoon, however this did not dampen people’s enthusiasm.
Once again congratulations and well done to the organisers.
Coupled with the Olympics this certainly made me proud to be British.
