THE potential new landlord of The Nags Head has cancelled a planned relaunch festival this weekend due to the problems he has faced moving into the pub.
The Nags Head in London Road has been closed since the last landlord, Marco Iorio, left.
Kevin Sweeney, who runs Beechstock each year, took on the lease of the popular pub from Admiral Taverns.
But he said he has had problems getting into the building to start work- most importantly being that the electricity has been cut off.
There will also be a hearing to review the licence of the premises on September 17 at Wycombe District Council's offices.
Mr Sweeney cancelled this weekend's proposed festival, because he said a generator would be too costly and there were other teething issues.
He said: "We had to come away and fight another day. We have had to cancel the festival.
"I am hoping the pub will not remain closed."
But he said he is still working with the brewery to try and get it up and running.
He hopes to hold a meeting with nearby residents to discuss any issues they may have faced recently.
A Facebook page has been set up called Save The Nags Head, which also links to an online petition.
Mr Sweeney said he wants to offer live music that will appeal to everybody.
A spokesman for Southern Electric, Greg Clarke, said specific information about the pub could not be given but he told the BFP: "All we can do is reiterate the point we would only ever carry out a disconnection as a last resort when we have exhausted all other avenues. In some cases it is necessary whether that be in terms of non payment and another reason and the main reason where safety is an issue."
