CELEBRITIES may be all about glitz, glamour and fame but a new set of awards aims to celebrate the people making a real difference to their community.
The Hidden Gems Awards, launched by Marlow FM, are intended to recognise the efforts of people such as teachers, independent traders, young sportsmen.
The fledgling radio station has announced the shortlists, after public nominations.
Now radio volunteers are calling upon residents to vote for the winners, who will receive their gongs at a special party on September 29 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Jennie Carr, Director for Fundraising said: "We are delighted to have created these Hidden Gem Awards which are really gaining momentum.
“It is very uplifting to be able to celebrate Marlow in this way, awards are for teachers, tea shops, services to the community and more. There are some wonderful people creating a marvellous community in Marlow.'
You can vote online.
