A SCOUT group celebrating its 50th anniversary next month is looking for as many former members as possible to join in its grand reunion.
So far 200 current and former members of the 3rd Chesham (St. Mary’s) group have agreed to join in the celebrations, but organisers are looking for even more ex Scouts to join in the fun.
The celebrations will take former Scouts on a trip back in time as they can take part in an overnight camp, games, activities and a camp fire and barbecue at the Braid Wood Activity Centre in nearby Asheridge.
The reunion party will be held over the weekend of September 15-16. Anyone with any connection to the 3rd Chesham Scouts, or know somebody who was, can contact Ken or Sue Hancock at suehancock13@hotmail.co.uk or on 07802 906872 for more information and an invitation to the Golden Anniversary Party.
Founded in 1962 by the then vicar of St. Mary’s church, the group has grown steadily over the years and is now one of the largest in the area. More than 150 youngsters are members of its Scout, Cub and Beaver packs at its headquarters in Berkhampstead Road.
