It would appear that I am not alone in being confused when using the multi-storey car park at Wycombe Station.
I recently took my grandson to Lord’s and we stayed in London overnight to ensure we were at the ground early. On arrival at Wycombe station I got out of my car and asked the gentleman getting out of the car next to me if it was a pay and display car park as there were no signs. His reply was “I was going to ask you the same question.” We found a payment machine which allowed you to buy a ticket for that day, with a cheaper rate after 4pm.
There were no facilities for using credit cards and there was no option to buy a ticket for the next day, as we would not be returning until later the next day. The ticket office was closed so I purchased a ticket that expired at 2.30am the following day.
Surely we can have a better system than this?
The ticket has two names on the back, one is a supplier of ticket machines the other supplies technology for car parks.
So is it Chiltern Railways that are operating this car park?
If so perhaps we could have some signs to tell intending customers what type of car park it is and how to exit.
As I did not receive a penalty notice for my ticket having expired at 2.30am I think this must be a common problem.
