FORMULA One star made a ‘pit stop’ at national charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in Saunderton this week.
Mark Webber, who is ranked number two in the Formula One drivers’ championship, visited the charity who is celebrating their 30th year anniversary.
Rob Panting from the charity said: "We were delighted to welcome Mark to our national centre and show him just how a hearing dog can not only provide practical support for a deaf person, but also how a hearing dog can help to remove some of the isolation, stress and anxiety hearing loss can bring."
The Australian driver also got the chance to see how a fully-trained hearing dog alerts deaf people to a range of sounds including the door bell, alarm clock and smoke alarm during a special demonstration.
The Charity is a non-government funded organisation and relies on the support of the public. With hearing loss rising up to one-in-six of the population the demand for the provision of services like a hearing dog is only set to rise further.
