THE former Green Man pub in Flackwell Heath was bulldozed this week.
A Sainsbury’s convenience store is set to be built on the site, as well as an independent coffee shop.
Hundreds of villagers had objected to the Sainsbury's store, saying it would threaten the future of other shops in the village.
But Wycombe District Council approved the scheme, which developers said would 'knit the village centre together' and encourage people to shop locally.
The planning application was made Enterprise Inns, the owner of the pub, along with a firm called Oakengates One Ltd.
