THERE is a risk of significant snow this weekend, according to a Hazlemere weatherman.
Jim Dale, of British Weather Services, said there will be a real possibility of snow during Saturday, particularly in the evening.
He said: "It looks like on Saturday we have a major frontal system doing battle with the cold air. Cold air is over ourselves and the rest of the UK. It will be a UK wide event."
He said in the West the snow is likely to turn to rain but he thinks it may stay as snow here.
The Hazlemere-based independent forecaster said: "It really is all eyes down for this one and be prepared. I don't want to cry wolf but I don't want to say it is not going to happen."
He said the snow could be significant.
Mr Dale said temperatures will be as low as -5 and -6 degrees Celsius tonight, tomorrow morning and Friday morning. But he said it will not be as cold on Sunday morning.
