METAL shutters on a controversial gaming centre in Chesham town centre look set to be forcibly removed by a council after being put up without planning permission.
Members of Chiltern District Council's planning committee rejected a retrospective application to allow the shutters to be put up at the centre in High Street.
And members said they would now look to take further action by issuing an enforcement notice to take the shutters down again.
The gaming centre - which has already closed after just three months' of business - was only allowed after a successful appeal.
It took the place of a former bank and the original application was described by Cllr Nick Stewert as an "aberration" and "outrageous" at Thursday night's planning meeting.
The application for the shutters was turned down because of the visual impact they would have on the town centre and would "deaden" the existing street scene.
