TWO knifepoint robberies in Chesham which took place 11 days apart are being linked by police.
Both incidents happened in alleyways in the town centre, with a 14-year-old girl being the victim of the first robbery.
She was robbed of a handbag and mobile phone when she was stopped by a woman and a man, who pointed a knife at her, in an alley between Tom Scott House in Pearce Road and the cemetery at 5.15pm on Saturday January 14.
The girl was not injured in the attack and ran to a friend’s house nearby to get help.
The second incident happened on Wednesday 25 January at 10.25pm. A 35-year-old woman was walking along the alleyway between Alexander Street and Cameron Road, when she was stopped by a man and a woman. The man produced a knife and demanded money.
The victim said she had none and the man said he was going to search her. The victim refused and the man and woman ran off with nothing being stolen.
Police have appealed for witneeses to either robbery. Anyone with information should contact PC Paul Reeve on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
* A 24-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been released on bail until 16 February.
