A HUNDRED Marlow singers are set to descend on High Wycombe on Saturday evening for a special concert.
Marlow Community Choir at Borlase is staging its annual Winter show at All Saints Church - which will kick-off with a royal theme.
The group, backed up by a full orchestra, promise Sir Charles Hubert Parry’s Coronation Anthem ‘as never heard before’. Audiences might recall the piece from last year's Royal Wedding.
Led by musical director Gillian Dibden MBE, they will go on to perform Charles Gounod's St Cecilia Mass, as well as pieces by Fauré, Verdi, Makholm and Kreisler.
Choir member Charles Horth said the evening “will be the culmination of months of preparation by young musicians, not just Borlasians, but around the area and members of staff, parents, relatives and friends".
He added: "It's a heroic effort for an event not to be missed.”
Tickets for the 7.30pm concert are bookable online here: http://www.bucksinfo.net/mccab/box-office/

The choir is a ‘community outreach initiative’ of Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School and meets on Wednesdays at 7.30pm, during school terms.
Its members come from all over south Buckinghamshire.
