A LABRADOODLE which ran onto the M40 and forced the closure of the motorway this lunchtime has been rescued.
Motorists called the police at about 1.08pm after the dog – a cross between a Labrador and poodle – ran onto the motorway between Junction 2 at Beaconsfield and Junction 1A M25.
Concerned drivers pulled on to the hard shoulder and stopped on the motorway in a bid to rescue the dog from the M40.
But after a 40 minute standoff, the Labradoodle was caught, unharmed, and returned to its owner.
Traffic was released at 1.48pm and no further delays have been reported.
