TWO men forced their way into the home of an 87-year-old woman and stole her handbag - while she sat in her living room and watched.
At 6.15pm yesterday, the woman was sitting in the living room of her house in Roundwood Road, High Wycombe, when the doorbell rang.
As she was not expecting anyone she did not open the door.
But two men then forced the front door open. One came into the living room and asked the victim if he could turn the television on for her, to which the victim refused.
The man then said he needed to get something and picked up the victim’s beige handbag and walked out. The second offender stayed in the doorway throughout the incident.
Items in the handbag include £60 and a silver plated watch.
Det Con Chris Mavers, of Force CID High Wycombe, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the offence.
“Perhaps they approached you and were turned away? Perhaps you were another victim and you haven’t reported this to the police? If so, we need to hear from you.”
The first offender is described as 5ft 3ins, 20 to 30-years-old and wearing a peaked cap. The second offender is 18 to 25-years-old with an Irish accent.
