FOR the 12th year the Snowdrop Walk will take place at West Wycombe Park to raise money for the Child Bereavement Charity.

The grounds, which are closed until April 1, are opened for the annual charity walk from 12-4pm on February 12 with the opportunity for families to plant snowdrops in memory of someone special who has died.

Snowdrops are available to buy on the day and there will be charity staff and volunteers to help plant them at The Temple of Venus, within the park.

There will be special activities for the children and hot food and refreshments available from West Wycombe Village Hall at the end of the walk, where there will be more children's activities.

Chief executive of the Saunderton-based charity, Ann Chalmers, said: “The Snowdrop Walk is now in its 12th year and has been well supported over the years by local families. As ever, we are very grateful to Sir Edward and Lady Dashwood of West Wycombe Park, for their ongoing support on this special day in the Child Bereavement Charity’s calendar.

"It’s a lovely way to spend a Sunday in a beautiful setting and to admire the grounds of the park. Every penny raised will go towards our vital work supporting bereaved families, so do please come along and join us.”

It is £2.50 for adults, £1.50 concessions and children over three, and under threes go free. Pay on the day. The children's rhyming creature hunt is £1. For more information email events@childbereavement.org.uk or call Emma on 01494 568912.
