THE candidates for a byelection to select a new member of Amersham Town Council have been announced.
Four candidates have been put forward for nomination for the Amersham Town ward, with the election being called after the resignation of Tory councillor Ros Aitken.
Standing for election are Liberal Democrat Vera Head - who lost her seat on the council at the last election in 2010 - Andrew Fleming of the Conservative Party, Labour's Stuart Kelly and Michael Hurley of UKIP.
Polling will take place at the Royal British Legion hall in Whielden Street from 7am-10pm on Thursday February 2.
