MAY I, through your columns, say a very sincere ‘Thank You’ to the good people of High Wycombe, who, even in these difficult times, could think of others less fortunate than themselves and gave most generously to “Action for Children” (previously National Children’s Home) on Saturday, December 10, in the Eden Centre.
A grand sum of £563 was given as passing shoppers enjoyed the excellent singing of choirs from the local Trefoil Guild, Oakridge Road Baptist Church and Cryers Hill Methodist Church, accompanied throughout the three hours by Keith Lawrence.
May I also thank those who have given to Action for Children in memory of Judith Mary Hargrove (BFP obituary on November 25) who was secretary of the High Wycombe and Marlow NCH support groups for nearly 20 years.
Over £2,400 has been donated.
Rev G.R. Hargrove, Fennels Farm Road, Flackwell Heath
