I CHALLENGE Wycombe District Council to disclose how much revenue it took from parking fines from Sainsbury’s car park in Marlow during the first week of the new store opening.
I was also caught out by the malfunctioning ticket machine which only discharged one ticket at a time – first a supermarket refund ticket, and second a parking ticket after some delay.
As a result, I unknowingly displayed a fully paid refund ticket, not realising there was a further ticket to come. I was charged a penalty fine.
WDC had two parking attendants patrolling this car park continuously throughout the day.
My second attack on the council is that they have now changed the system on our advice (i.e. the public) so that both tickets are joined together and thus delivered at the same time from the ticket machine. Despite changing the machines, we still can’t get a refund on our fines which were the result of the malfunctioning ticket machine. The reply from the council should be printed in this newspaper.
