ARMY cadets in Beaconsfield have offered to restore the town's war memorial. The offer from the Wilton Park cadets comes after Hilary Coales, of Walkwood Rise, asked the town council to restore the Windsor End memorial in time for 2014, the centenary of the start of the First World War.

A BEACONSFIELD firm is preparing to start work on a high-profile building project in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Jansons Property, headquartered in Station Road, is set to begin work on a £35 million Ibis Hotel in March - on a site just off the Royal Mile. The hotel will be built on the site of the former Gilded Balloon Theatre building, which was burned to the ground in a huge fire ten years ago. Planning permission for the project was granted last month.

AN action group has been launched to encourage pupils to cycle to school and improve bike routes in Beaconsfield. Parents, residents and other interest groups have been invited to the inaugural meeting of Beaconsfield Cycle Paths action group, to be held at High March School. A NEW badminton club for adults has been launched at Beaconsfield High School, held on most Friday evenings from 7.30pm - 9pm. All abilities welcome. THE Chilterns American Women’s Club is planning an evening ball at Stoke Park on March 3 to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The club has raised more than £100,000 for The Epilepsy Society over the past 25 years and will be awarding one local charity with a £2,500 donation at the evening event.
