A 65-YEAR-OLD woman sustained ten open wounds to her leg after she was attacked by a dog in High Wycombe.
She was walking in Everest Road when two dogs started circling her, before one of the dark Labrador-type dogs sunk its teeth into her left shin.
The victim turned round to see a man and a woman standing by the junction of Everest Road and Hillary Road but they did not try to help, police said.
The dogs ran back towards the man and woman at the top of the road following the attack, which happened at 2.45pm on Thursday.
The victim was taken to Wycombe Hospital after alerting a neighbour.
She was given antibiotics and discharged but she will have to return to hospital for check-ups on the wounds.
PC Bushra Sheikh said: “This could have been a nasty incident. Luckily, the victim was not more seriously injured.
“I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or if they remember meeting a dog walker and dogs.”
Contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or, if you do not wish to speak to the police, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
