A DECISION from the Government on High Speed 2 is expected tomorrow.
Transport Secretary Justine Greening looks set to announce if the £33bn scheme, which would cut through Buckinghamshire's countryside heartland, will get the go ahead.
Nothing has been confirmed so far on a time for the announcement but it could come after health questions in the House of Commons after 3.30pm tomorrow, Amersham and Chesham MP Cheryl Gillan's office said.
Former Transport Secretary Lord Adonis, writing in The Times today, accuses the Government of dithering over the proposal.
He announced the scheme on behalf of the Labour Government two years ago.
He wrote: “Her department (Justine Greening) is indicating it could be another two years before Parliament even votes on the proposition, which will be several years before a building contractor gets near the Chilterns.”
