I AM writing to congratulate Colin Baker on his success on the TV programme Come Dine with me, where he and four other celebrities each cooked an evening meal for the others who then score the meal in secret.

Anyway, ‘our’ Colin was truly gracious throughout the week of programmes and thoroughly deserved to win the prize of £1,000 for his chosen charity… he was genial and genuine at each occasion and really played the part each night in the panto theme with his costumes... a perfect guest and a gracious host too... who could ask for more?

The fact that he’d not cooked a proper meal for years didn’t daunt him either and he produced his food with confidence and humility…what an ambassador to the celebrity culture that often seems so shallow.

Here’s one man that the whole of Bucks can be proud of! (Good to see West Wycombe butcher’s shop featured in the programme too). My heartfelt warmest congratulations to Colin for coming up trumps and entertaining me all week on TV. Well done!
