A MAN sustained a double-fractured jaw after being attacked by a group of men following the New Year’s Eve celebrations in Higginson Park.
The 20-year-old was walking through the park towards Marlow High Street shortly after the conclusion of the New Year’s Eve fireworks display when he was set up on by four white men, aged between 17 and 20, police said.
The victim, who is from Bourne End, suffered a double-fractured jaw and required hospital surgery, police said.
Det Con Tom Gregory, who is investigating, said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack which left the victim with two fractures to his jaw.
“He has had to go through an operation with metal plates being put into the injury.
“This incident happened just after the fireworks had finished and there were plenty of people around at the time.”
Det Con Gregory is particularly urging a man who helped the victim and gave him water after the attack to come forward.
