A MURDER investigation has been launched after a seriously injured woman died this morning.
The 39-year-old woman, who was found inside a property in Holtspur Avenue, Wooburn Green, yesterday died at hospital in the early hours of this morning.
A 46-year-old man who was arrested in connection with the incident remains in custody, police said today.
The woman has not yet been formally identified, with a post mortem expected to take place later this afternoon.
Det Ch Insp Vince Grey, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and we are trying to establish the circumstances around how the woman suffered the injuries that lead to her death.
“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death and I would like to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident.”
Supt Gilbert Houalla, Area Commander, said: “I would like to extend our condolences to this woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“This type of crime is very rare in the area and I would like to reassure residents that officers from our Major Crime department are leading the inquiry supported by a dedicated team of officers.
“Wycombe police officers will be available in the local area conducting reassurance patrols and I would urge any residents with any concerns to speak to them.”
