I READ with amazement, the letter from county council leader Martin Tett in the BFP of December 23. He says: “.... our budget plans for a second council tax freeze next year will put real money back in people’s pockets ....” Since when has no increase been the same as a reduction? Only a reduction in Council Tax would put ‘real money’ back in people’s pockets. With a leader who thinks like this, it perhaps explains why the council finances are in such a poor state!
