AS you know, Wycombe District Council recently held a three week exhibition which outlined our latest proposal for the redevelopment of the Wycombe Sports Centre site.
The proposal includes a new leisure centre, a potential food hall, headquarter-type offices and an hotel development (which will create new jobs in the district) along with a new coachway park and ride proposal for improved transport links both locally and regionally.
Proposals to relocate the synthetic turf pitch to John Hampden Grammar School and the running track to Buckmaster playing fields were also exhibited. We’ve been really pleased with the level of interest in our proposals so far and I want to thank everyone who visited our exhibition and/or our website to find out more, as well as those who gave us written feedback.
Our next steps are to review what you’ve said and then consider and respond to any points you’ve raised, via our website. Our aim is to submit a planning application in the spring which will give you another chance to have your say, but between now and then we’ll keep you informed about how our proposal is developing and we’ll listen to what you tell us.
Cllr Arif Hussain, Wycombe District Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Property Services
