ABOUT 200 people viewed plans for a £40k revamp of Riley Park play area which went on show this week for the first time.
Marlow Town Council, which has taken over the lease, put six designs on display for parents and children to look at yesterday.
The council aims for the redevelopment to be completed by summer next year.
Sainsbury's, which is set to move into the old Waitrose store behind the park in West Street, has stumped up the £40k, although it appears the final cost will be just under this amount.
Council spokesman Katherine Joy said: “It's an extremely popular and loved park – and that came through to us at the exhibition very strongly from the mums and dads.
“They really value that park and were very pleased to be able to have the opportunity to take part in moving the scheme forward.”
Hundreds of angry parents and children protested at the site when it appeared it may close last year due to a disagreement between The Riley Park Trust and Wycombe District Council over the lease.
But the town council has since struck a deal to take on responsibility.
Mrs Joy said all of the feedback on the various designs –by five different developers – will now be considered before a final decision is made.
The council hopes to be working with developers before the New Year and aims for the refurb to be done in time for summer.
The plans will soon be displayed on the council's website for those who were unable to make the exhibition.
