RENOWNED TV chat show host Sir Michael Parkinson spoke about his long career interviewing some of the biggest celebrities in the world in Marlow on Friday.

He entertained a large audience at The Compleat Angler Hotel for a special Macmillan Cancer Support charity fundraiser, before signing copies of his new book.

Charity spokesman Sally Carter said: “Sir Michael Parkinson was very popular and chatted for a long time about his life and guests on his famous programme.

“I think everyone would have stayed listening all afternoon given the chance. "Huge thanks to him for giving his time and to the staff at The Compleat Angler.

“The lunch was a great success and we should raise over £2,000.”

“I am very grateful to all those people who give their support to Macmillan by attending,” she added.
