OVER the coming days south Bucks will be honouring fallen servicemen with a range of services and events to mark Remembrance Day.
Here is a round-up of the events commemorating the official end of the First World War on November 11 1918.
Friday, November 11
Cadmore End: At 11.00am children, teachers and villagers will commemorate those from Cadmore End who gave their lives in the two world wars. A poppy wreath will be laid at the war memorial in the church of St Mary-le-Moor. This memorial is unique as it is the font cover carved many years ago by a local sculptor. Two minutes silence will be observed at 11.00am.
High Wycombe: The Royal Grammar School will be commemorating the day from 10.45am.
Holmer Green: Join the members of the Royal British Legion for a two minutes silence at the car park in Turners Place at 11am.
Penn & Tylers Green: From 10.45am-11.05am an open aired legion service will be held in Back Common .
Sunday, November 13
Amersham: A service will be held from 10:40am – 11:30am, Memorial Gardens and St Mary's Church.
Beaconsfield: The remembrance service will be held at the war memorial outside St Mary's Church in Windsor End, Beaconsfield at 10am. The parade will start at 10.30am, with a service at 10.40am.
Chalfont St. Giles: A Remembrance Service will be held at 11.30am in the Deanway, Chalfont St Giles Parish Church.
Chesham: Chesham Methodist Church will hold its remembrance service at 10.30am.
Chesham Bois: The memorial service will be held at 10.30am at St Leonards Church, a parade will follow from the church starting at 11.45am
Downley: A service will be held at 3.00pm, at the War Memorial Hall in the High Street.
Flackwell Heath: The commemoration event will start at the Royal British Legion at 10.30am, with a service at 10.40am at the war memorial on Common Road.
Great Missenden: The Remembrance Sunday service will start at the monument outside the parish church at 10.55am, followed by a regular communion service.
Gerrads Cross: A service will take place at the war memorial in East Common.
High Wycombe The memorial service will tale place from 10.55am, All Saints Church, High Wycombe after a Remembrance Day parade beginning at the District Council offices in Queen Victoria Road.
The Royal British Legion Wycombe Marsh Remembrance Day Parade will start at 2pm from the Legion in Cock Lane to St Anne's and St Peter's Church in London Road for a service at 3pm. This will be followed by the laying of the wreaths at the war memorial.
Holmer Green A full Remembrance Day service will commence at 3pm at the Baptist Church in Holmer Green. A parade to the war memorial in Beech Tree Road will follow the service.
Little Kingshill Village: Little Kingshall Village Hall will be holding a remembrance day service at 10.00am, followed by a wreath laying ceremony at 11am on the War Memorial at the Baptist Church in Windsor Lane.
Marlow: The Remembrance Sunday parade will begin at the Marlow Royal British Legion Headquarters in Marlow at 10.30am marching up station road to the War Memorial on the Causeway where a service will follow at 10.45am.
Naphill & Walters Ash: A remembrance service to past and present servicemen will be held at the Village Hall and War Memorial starting at 2.25pm and finishing at 3.25pm.
Penn & Tylers Green: A memorial service will run from 3pm to 4pm, St. Margaret's Church, refreshments in The Sanctuary afterwards.
Princes Risborough: A service will commence at St Mary's Church at 10am followed by laying of the wreaths in the Market Square.
Stokenchurch: The remembrance events will begin at the village war memorial at 10.45am, then a service in the Church of St Peter and St Paul.
Thame: The parade will assemble in the Lower High Street Car Park in front of Thame Town Hall at 10.40am and proceed to the war memorial. After the ceremony the parade will march back to the Upper High Street Car Park. Refreshments will be available at Christchurch following the service.
Loudwater: Legion members, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Rainbows, Brownies and Guides will march from the Loudwater Legion at 10.15am to St Peter’s Church, for the Remembrance Service at 10.45am.
Wooburn Green & Bourne End: Service at the Wooburn Green War Memorial at 10.45am, followed by refreshments served by the Community Church.
