COUNCIL workers are set to start building a castle-themed play area off Rutland Avenue in Castlefield today.
The equipment set to be installed at Desborough Castle has been specially designed to appeal to children aged between eight and 13.
Wycombe District Council said the play area will recognise the history of the site, where there is an ancient hill fort.
Cllr Katrina Wood, cabinet member for community, said: "We're really excited about this new area - we're transforming a piece of land which at the moment is just a piece of grass, into a fun and funky, castle themed play area which local people can enjoy. I can't wait to see the finished results."
The new area is expected to be finished in about six weeks time.
It follows the first phase of a multi-use games area which was officially opened on October 1, on the other side of Rutland Avenue.
Funding for the sites has been secured from central Government.
