WELL done to Wycombe MP, Steve Baker. I read in the BFP (October 28) that he actually voted for holding an EU referendum.
I am not that sure of the pros and cons of remaining in the EU but the overwhelming opinion appears to be for withdrawal.
So it appears that at least Mr Baker is capable of reflecting the wishes of his voters, well those that voted for him and I am one of them. Sadly I read in the papers this week that Mr Baker and several other MPs were treated to a five-star trip to Equatorial Guinea over the summer that was paid for by the current dictatorial regime. Travel was business class; the total cost of the visit was some £25,000!
Steve Baker’s conclusion on the visit was that ‘I wish I had not gone’. Excellent, at least he knows the jolly was a wasted effort. May I ask through your pages that Steve stays at home and looks after, we, the people of Wycombe and forget about going on a fact finding mission that five minutes on the internet would have shown just what a corrupt regime is Equatorial Guinea?
