WE have recently enjoyed a holiday on the Thames and moored for a night very near Bourne End railway bridge next to the gate into the National Trust land.
It is a popular and very pretty spot and used by a number of dog walkers. When we arrived the area round the entrance was spoilt by little plastic bags of dog excrement tossed into the hedgerow, or left by the side of the path or hung on branches.
About 6pm, however, on the evening, we were there, we noticed a man walk by and collect all these little platic bags and put them in a carrier and carry on with his walk back towards Bourne End. I would like to pass on my congratulations via your publication to this unsung hero and to all those who left the packages in the first place – shame on you. You give dog owners a bad name.
