KNIFE-WIELDING raiders punched a shop manager in the face when a Co-op store in Walters Ash was robbed on Monday.
At about 9.50pm, two men entered the store in Main Road. One of them threatened the member of staff behind the till with a knife and demanded she open the cash register.
The second man then grabbed the other shop worker who was stacking shelves and dragged her to the till and told her to open it.
The manager then came over and opened a till and the offenders grabbed around £90. When the manager told them he did not have access to the other tills, he was punched in the face.
The men then ran outside and got into a vehicle, described as an old, white, estate type vehicle, on Ash Close.
Both men are described as white and in their late teens to early twenties. The first man is white, around 6ft 2ins, with blue eyes. He was wearing a black or dark jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms, and had black material covering the lower half of his face.
The second man is shorter than the first, of medium build, and had black material covering the lower half of his face.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the men driving away, should contact Det Con Holly Cannon via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or leave your name, call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
