A 25-YEAR-OLD man was attacked as he waited in the queue at a takeaway outlet in High Wycombe.
He was left needing specialist surgery after the incident at Subway in Frogmoor, which happened at about 2am on Saturday.
Police said the attackers were not known to the victim, and no descriptions have been given.
Det Con Dan McKenzie said: “The victim has been left with a badly damaged eye socket and lacerated eyelid as a result of this incident, which has required specialist surgery.
“I am keen to trace the person or people responsible for this incident and I would urge anyone with information about this incident to come forward and help with the investigation.
“This happened at a time when there would have been people around and I know that there will be people out there who witnessed this assault, and may even know who was responsible.”
