Volunteers have always played a key role at the National Trust and Hughenden Manor is no exception.
Over a century ago, in 1895, it was volunteers who created the National Trust and helped make a wealth of beautiful houses, gardens and landscapes available for everyone to enjoy.
On Friday 10th June (10am - 12 noon) and on Saturday 11th June (10am - 12 noon), anyone is welcome to come and find out about a range of volunteer opportunities in this fascinating house and its 700 acre estate and gardens.
Volunteer roles with a strong focus on giving visitors a great day out include guiding in the Victorian manor or the walled garden, welcoming visitors in the ticket office and stableyard, leading activities for school groups and helping in the cafe.
For those who like to be more hands-on, you can be a volunteer gardener or work with the rangers on the estate and nearby countryside. There's something for everyone. You will meet lots of interesting people and be as involved in the life of Hugenden as far as you wish.
To register an interest in attending one of the open days, please call: 01494 755573 (Mon-Fri) or email claire.robinson@nationaltrust.org.uk
