THE Chalfont Otters celebrated their 33rd annual swimming presentation evening at St Josephs Hall last week.

All the swimmers received their medals or certificates and 67 trophies were awarded.

In addition the club celebrated this year's club record breakers with Matt Penning-Lambert the standout breaking six records.

He broke the 14 year boys 200m freestyle; 14 year boys 400m freestyle; 14, 15, and 16 year boys 800m freestyle; 14, 15, 16 year and boys and open 1500m freestyle; 14 year boys 200m backstroke and 14 year boys 400m IM.

Tario Kalpakiotis shattered the 12 year boys 50m breaststroke; 12 year boys 100m breaststroke; 12 year boys 200m breaststroke.

Hannah Grout broke the 13 year girls 100m breaststroke while Harvey James smashed the 12 year boys 100m butterfly.

Giles Westgarth claimed the 14 year boys 50m breaststroke, 14 year boys 100m butterfly and 14 year boys 200m individual medley.

Overall the Otter’s swimmers achieved personal bests in almost 50 per cent of their swims.

The 2011 new team captains were announced with Giles Westgarth and Nicola Twinning named the senior captains, with David Mullally and Maya Semyonova Hoyland to the junior captains.

In addition Matt Penning-Lambert and Lucia Finan are senior vice-captains and Keiran Arnott and Tabitha James are junior vice-captains.

This year Chalfont Otters entered 12 relay teams. Teams are for girls 11 and under, Bagcats 10 to 13 years and Youths 14 to 17.

For the boys the teams are 11 and under, Bagcats 10 to 14 and Youths 15 to 18.

Chalfont Otters Swimming Club is always on the lookout for swimmers who are keen to join a swimming club.
