AS THE clocks go back, the county’s Household Waste Recycling Centres will be working to different hours from today.
The centres will now be open from 8am to 5pm.
All sites, including High Heavens in Clay Lane, High Wycombe, are open seven days a week, are open seven days a week, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
"As winter approaches our sites close one hour earlier as fewer people visit the sites once it is dark", said Councillor Martin Tett, Cabinet Member for Planning and Environment.
"Our centres recycle a range of materials including cardboard, garden waste, clothes, batteries and electrical equipment. This allows residents to help us divert large amounts of waste from landfill, which is helping us meet our recycling targets."
To help tackle traders illegally using the recycling centres, controls are taking place. A permit is now required by any householder who wishes to dispose of limited quantities of asbestos irrespective of the type of vehicle being used. Permits are free and easily obtainable for householders.
