A ONE-EARED badger is the latest patient being cared for at a Bucks animal hospital.
Vincent – named after Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh, who famously cut off one of his ears – is being looked after by staff at St Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Haddenham after being attacked.
He was brought in by a vet from Hertfordshire last Tuesday.
Les Stocker from the hospital said: “He's doing fine. There's a little bit of damage to the bit round his ear but he should be OK.
“It might have been a fox or a dog that came across him and attacked him. I think another badger would have killed him.”
Vincent, who is eight weeks old, will be released back into the wild later this year.
“We make a family group,” said Mr Stocker. “We can't release him as he's so young, so we put him in with other badger cubs to build up a sett in a badger-free area.”
