I'D just like to bring you up to date on the progress of the Micklefield Library Action Group campaign.
Firstly I'd like to thank all the businesses and firms as well as individuals who have rallied to our cause; with special thanks from all the committee to the Free Press for their continuing valuable coverage of our campaign.
We are energetically going about raising £18,752 which has to be in place by May 31, along with a viable business plan to forestall closure of the library on August 31 by Bucks County Council. It will enable us to submit our bid to the National Lottery by June and keep the library open while waiting on their decision.
There are a great many people working energetically to make this first phase of our fundraising a success; not least the dedicated and fantastically committed members of the Micklefield Library Action Group. Ash Hill Primary School in Micklefield has also been busy raising funds for our group with a book sale, and are keeping awareness levels of our campaign high at the school.Micklefield residents are also getting behind us with their wholehearted support.
We appeal to anybody who would like to support us to send a cheque on our behalf to the Buckinghamshire Foundation. Donations made to our appeal should be forwarded to: Buckinghamshire Foundation, Unit 4, Farnborough Close, Stocklake Park, Aylesbury, HP20 1DQ. Cheques payable to: "The Buckinghamshire Foundation." (Please write MLAG on reverse of cheque).
David Cannings, Micklefield Library Action Group, Micklefield Road, High Wycombe
