Whether Hollywood-inspired or bohemian charm, the high street has plenty of sparkle and shine to help you look like a millionairess says Francine Miller.
While diamonds may indeed be a girl's best friend, they are not always quite so amicable when it comes to her bank balance. However, looking ultra-glamorous this Christmas and New Year need not mean applying for a remortgage on your home.
The high street has plenty of sparkle and shine available to make you feel like a millionairess, without causing any collateral damage to your wallet.
This season choose between Hollywood-inspired old-school glamour, as seen in vintage jewellery, chandelier earrings and cascading necklaces, or head east for elaborate Russian-infused pieces.
Many high street designers have opted for pieces in diamante, but look out as well for multi-coloured sparkly gems for maximum retro elegance.
Starting with earrings, those who prefer small and subtle can check out Marks & Spencer's diamante ornate earrings, £30, and Accessorize's small pearlised chandelier earrings, £6.
Make a bolder statement with Mikey's large Russian-inspired diamante earrings, £69, Next's green crystal earrings, £9.99, and Marks & Spencer's antique circles earrings, £12.
If your dress has a plunging or halter neckline, draw attention to your upper half with Marks & Spencer's diamante and jet necklace, £50, Next's large green crystal necklace, £14.99, and Mikey's ornate necklace, £40.
Embrace your inner bohemian with Accessorize's Enchantment bead necklace, £12, River Island's charm necklace, £9.99, or Oasis' multi strand necklace, £12.
If you're already wearing intricate earrings and necklace, keep your arms free of any festive jingling.
But if bare wrists are not your thing, try out Marks & Spencer's diamante and jet bracelet, £40, to help keep you shimmering and shining throughout the whole night.
If you consider yourself a girly girl, choose the Enchantment bead and charm bracelet, £12, from Accessorize, Marks & Spencer's filigree flower diamante bracelet, £18, or Tesco's purple cluster bead bracelet, £8.
For something a little less dressy, check out a range of resin bangles from Oasis, priced from £7.
