DESIGNERS Hardy & Hooper have given women the chance to show off their figures this winter.
I went along to the launch of their autumn/winter collection in their shop on Eton high street.
The main design running through their range is a very fitted dress, which has a neat cross-over around the bust area, then the skirt gently fans out into a fish tail hem-line, which looks wonderful on tall, slim women.
Katherine Hardy and Dawn Hooper have designed this style for daytime wear, and for the evening they have the dress in a classical black silk.
For those of us who prefer to hide their figure rather than have something that clings, Katherine and Dawn haven't forgotten about us.
They have designed a loose fitting jacket which just floats around the figure, and teamed it with wide trousers in a rich brown.
Short jackets are also a favourite in their collection, as well as loose fitting coats in mohair which come in deep blues to purples.
Hardy & Hooper is unlike any other boutique. Katherine and Dawn are both qualified fashion designers. They design and make the collection in their shop. They do absolutely everything from going to France to buy the fabric to sewing up the seams of the garment, and then selling their designs in their shop.
They have two price ranges for each outfit.
One is off-the-peg where the customer can choose the fabric from their range, but the outfit is made in a standard sizes 10 to 16. Then there is the made-to-measure range where the customer has two or three fittings and can choose the fabric and trimmings.
The outfits are perfect if you are looking for something a little different for a special occasion, for instance, a wedding where you want to be sure no-one is going to be in the same outfit as you.
Dawn and Katherine won't let you walk out of the shop with just a dress or pair of trousers, they will most probably help you to team it with a scarf or help you choose a piece of jewellery that will just make the look complete.
