MANY THANKS to all who came to support the Macmillan coffee morning last week. It was wonderful to see so many people greeting old friends and helping to raise £514 for this cause. Thanks to all who helped by running stalls.
HARVEST FESTIVAL weekend hosted by St Peter and St Paul's was a great success. Gifts of dried and canned goods are already at a warehouse in Twyford for forwarding to Africa.
CHURCH TEAS group is holding the monthly Saturday open house tomorrow in the St Francis room from 2.30pm to 4.30pm as usual. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the homemade cakes, tea and a chat.
STOPAG has started its new year and the October meeting will be on Thursday when subs (£5 annually) will be due. Lunch is served at 12.45pm and afterwards Bev Wint will give a demonstration of card making, with hands-on experience for anyone who wishes to have a go. New members are always welcome.
An outing to "Milestones" at Basingstoke will take place on Thursday, October 20, picking up at various points in the village from 10am. If you would like to go along please contact Ann on 01494 482344. The cost is £10 for members or £15 for non members.
STILL TIME to enter the Memorial Hall Social Club's mixed pairs knockout darts competition to be held on Saturday, October 15 at 7pm for 7.30pm. The entrance fee is £3 a pair and cheques should be payable to SMH Restoration Fund. Send them to Iggy Brown, 7 Barn Acre, Watlington OX49 5JP.
