FIRST AUTUMN WALK organised by the Countryside Group takes place on Sunday with a trip to see passage and migrant birds at Tring Reservoirs. Depart in cars from the Mount car park at 9.30am, returning at around 1pm. Ring Francis Gomme on 01844 274865 to confirm, non-members pay £3.
2007 will be eventful for the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway when it will be celebrating not only the 135th anniversary of its opening but also the 50th anniversary of its closure to passenger services in 1957.
With these anniversaries in mind they wish to contact any former employees of British Railways who may have worked on the branch and also any members of the public who may have travelled on the branch.
A retired fireman has already made contact and visited the railway. Malcolm Stottor worked on the line in 1951 on locomotive number 5715.
