CLUB HISPANICO Internacional de Bucks is back again for another season starting tonight at 7.45pm in the Fitzwilliams Centre. For their first meeting they have a Camino del Flamenco Fiesta with a show, tapas and drinks included in the cost to members of £7 and to others of £10. There's plenty of variety in the new programme including a talk on medieval instruments, one on Amnesty International and several on different areas of Spain. Enquiries should go to 01494 813477. IOLANTHE by Gilbert and Sullivan is being performed tonight and tomorrow by the Wycombe Savoy Opera at the Beacon Centre starting at 8pm. Tickets at £10 or £8 concessions are available from 01494 437969.
COFFEE MORNING will take place at the Free Methodist Church tomorrow from 10am and all are welcome.
ALSO TOMORROW is a talk on The Silk Road to be given by Dr Frances Wood at 2.30pm in the Fitzwilliams Centre. This is the first of the Historical Society winter lectures.
LONDON CITY MISSION will hold their area update meeting on Sunday at 6pm in the URC, Aylesbury End with guest speakers from the Harlesden Christian Centre team.and also Terry Puttick, Director of Ministries. All are welcome.
THE NATIONAL TRUST starts its winter and spring programme of talks on Thursday when Mark Feldman will travel along Canal Towpaths in his illustrated talk. He has explored the routes of many old canals and is enthusiastic about their survival. This will be at the Fitzwilliams Centre at 3pm and non-members are also welcome at a charge of only £1. Refreshments and a raffle are part of the afternoon MOTHERS UNION meets in the Reading Room on Thursday at their usual time of 2.30pm and members should bring poetry and prose.
I HAVE BEEN ASKED to give you all another reminder that Scottish Dancing has restarted at St Michael's church hall on Mondays from 8pm and will continue until the spring, with a break at Christmas. Get details from 01494 672476 or 522475.
DID YOU LEARN LATIN at school? It was fun wasn't it especially learning nursery rhymes in that language. A new course has started in Beaconsfield called "Latin for Everyday Life" and there may still be a vacancy or two. Ring Mark Walker on 01494 763 585 to find out. Mark is also holding a one day seminar on "Classical Civilisation" tomorrow at The Beaconsfield School. This will be an introduction to history, culture, art and more about the Greeks and Romans.
