THE Gerrards Cross Annual Jumble Sale is over and we thank everyone who was involved in this year's record-breaking sale.
More than £11,000 will eventually come into our coffers to help maintain the Memorial Centre, that wonderful facility in our village.
We cannot thank enough the band of willing helpers, most of whom are involved year after year. They freely give up their time to deliver leaflets, collect jumble and then sort it and sell it. Thanks to all our customers too.
One question that we are often asked is "what happens to the items that are left?"
Some of the more, shall we say, older items have to be discarded but the bulk is collected and disposed of for the benefit of those living in the Third World and Africa. That is all, except books. Over the years we have built up a huge collection of paperbacks, which we would be more than willing to donate to any charity(ies).
Please contact the Association office on 01753 883759. The dates to diarise are September 29 and 30, 2006.
