NEW BEGINNERS Line Dancing Class is due to start on Thursday evening in the Guide Hut on North Road. The class is suitable for all and is bound to be lots of fun. Until now these popular evenings have meant travelling outside the village. Now, thanks to organiser Jan, you will be able to learn the dances much closer to home.
The Line Dancing will take place from 7.30pm but do contact Jan on 07742 878021 to book a place first.
HISTORY AND POPULAR MUSIC from 1900 to 1950 is the specialist topic of locally based Dorinda Smith.
She often talks and plays music from the period at local events and to groups throughout the village and beyond. This was a period of great change and included two world wars, big bands, renowned singers and composers. The magic of this era still lives on today, with some music of the period revamped into new songs, showing they were truly classic.
Dorinda is available to share this with any local organisation and would just need a keyboard or piano with someone to play. For more information call 01494 716981.
