THE SURGERY on Elm Road was officially opened last Friday. Dr Steve Cox, group senior partner, outlined the long and arduous process that had taken all of 20 years to bear fruition into the magnificent building that now houses an ultra-modern surgery. He and Earl Howe, who cut the ribbon, praised all those who put in so much hard work to make sure the village had a surgery to serve the community in 2005 and onwards. Earl Howe said that he had thought, at times in the past, that the villages would be without a surgery of any kind, and he praised everybody for working closely together to make sure it happened.
The surgery also has a modern bright pharmacy on site that enables patients to collect prescriptions with the minimum of fuss and effort.
The practice is staffed by a very efficient team, ensuring visits to the doctor will become so much easier.
SEIDO KARATE classes are now taking place at the village hall and beginners are most welcome.
Children's classes take place on Wednesday evening between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, followed by adult classes from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Adult classes also take place on a Sunday morning between 9.30am and 10.30am. For more details call Stuart Wilson on 01494 717095.
